Two people died in a motorcycle crash in the Washington County's Town of Polk on Saturday, Aug. 29, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
A 29-year-old Town of Polk woman and a 51-year-old Town of Jackson man died on the scene, the sheriff's office reported.
According to the release, at 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a motorcycle crash in the area of Highway 175 and Highway 164 in the Town of Polk. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office along with the Slinger Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene and located a female and a male patient.
Lifesaving efforts were performed on the scene, but they both died, according to the release.
The roadway was closed for approximately five hours while the Washington County Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Washington County Medical Examiner's Office investigated the scene.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office declined to answer Milwaukee Journal Sentinel questions about the crash, including if it was a single vehicle crash, if there was another vehicle involved, or if alcohol was a factor.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
