San Antonio residents captured wild photos of the strong storms that moved through the city Friday, August 28, bringing heavy rain, lightning and strong wind gusts.
MySA asked readers to share photos and videos of the storm, and submissions showed dark skies, flashes of lightning and damage.
The storms caused widespread power outages. More than 100,000 CPS Energy customers were without electricity at the height of the storm, with 103,957 customers affected by 556 active outages as of 10:33 p.m. Friday. The public utility said there are still over 70,0000 without power as of Saturday morning.
The Westside was among the hardest-hit areas, with more than 15,000 customers in ZIP code 78207 without power, according to the utility's outage map.
The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for the San Antonio area through 12:15 a.m. Saturday as storms pushed across the region.
