The Pentagon awarded Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Boeing $982 million in separate contracts, according to a Tuesday notice.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, awarded Raytheon a $603 million contract ceiling to equip B-52 bombers with a more advanced radar system.
The project, expected to be completed by Aug. 20, 2031, will be performed in Forest, Mississippi; El Segundo, California; McKinney, Texas; and Warner Robins, Georgia.
Boeing's $163 million deal, also issued by the life cycle management center, is for new bomb racks for B-52 bombers compatible with the new radar systems.
Work will be performed in San Antonio, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 20, 2028.
Northrop Grumman secured a $216 million addition to a previously awarded contract for the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability, or DARC, Site 2 project, a ground-based radar system for tracking objects in space.
"This modification provides pre-construction long-lead items, antenna hardware, antenna manufacturing, and pre-construction tasks for the DARC Site 2 radar," the notice reads.
Northrop will carry out the work at Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is expected to complete it by March 30, 2030.
The Space Systems Command Directorate of Contracting at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, issued the award.
