EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- One of the Borderland's memorable patriotic events returns for another year, this time marking several milestones.
The Greater El Paso Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars will host its 50th annual Massing of the Colors on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the El Paso Community College's Administrative Services Center Auditorium, 9050 Viscount.
The ceremony is also part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the MOWW's "ownership" of the ceremony nationwide.
The event is open to all color-bearing units and organizations in the greater El Paso
area: patriotic organizations, veterans organizations, units of the active and reserve
military, National Guard units, ROTC and JROTC units from area high schools and
colleges, Boy and Girl Scouts, federal and state law enforcement elements, and city and
county police and fire departments.
