A shocking turn in the case involving an Oakhurst man accused of renting out his home and secretly recording his guests.
The Madera County Sheriff's Office says that 44-year-old Christian Edwards was found dead inside his home on Thursday.
It's believed he died by suicide.
Edwards was out of jail on bail and had a hearing scheduled for September 21.

He was arrested in march after being found in possession of more than 4,000 digital images of child sexual abuse material.
After seizing devices from his home, detectives uncovered videos of women and children that were filmed inside the house.
Edwards had been renting out the home since 2023.
Prosecutors said he would hide just feet away from his guests, recording them through cracks in the blinds and other hidden areas.
No foul play is suspected in his death and no other details have been released.
