A 23-year-old man was stabbed during a dispute inside a McDonalds in Greenwich Village.
The victim was stabbed in the back inside the restaurant on Broadway just after 2:45 a.m. on Thursday.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
A man wearing all black clothing fled on foot. No arrests have been made.
Then, just a few hours later in the East Village, another man was slashed at St. Marks Place and 2nd Avenue.
A 44-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his right hand. People in the area said they heard glass breaking.
He was also taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
"I was going out of the garage and when I came close to the corner I saw a lot of blood, and there was something wrapped in a material, maybe like a t-shirt, I am not sure," the witness said. "And I asked the police officer, 'What happened?' And he told me somebody was stabbed."
Surveillance video during the second stabbing showed two men going through garbage around the corner when a third man approached and a fight broke out.
It's not yet known if the incidents are connected to the same suspect.
