Property owners who suffered flood-related damage this spring will have a little longer to make use of Emmet County's Flood Debris Cleanup Voucher Program.
Emmet County DPW/Recycling announced this week that it would be expanding the program by including debris from both the April and June 2026 flooding events. Voucher expiration dates will also extend through Saturday, Oct. 17.

According to county officials, the program is intended to give residents more time to complete cleanup efforts and provide direct relief to households by helping to offset the cost of disposing of flood-related debris.
"Recovery doesn't happen on a set schedule," said Emmet County DPW Deputy Director Ashley McMurry in a statement. "By extending this program and expanding eligibility to include debris from the June flooding, we're continuing to meet the needs of our community and giving residents the flexibility they need to finish cleanup."
Eligible residents can register for vouchers at the Emmet County DPW Office, located at 200 Division St. Suite G-76. They will also be available from Aug. 3-7 at the Pleasantview Drop-Off Center, located at 7363 South Pleasantview Road.
Vouchers can be redeemed at the Pleasantview Drop-Off Center for qualifying flood debris, including
Construction and demolition debris (such as drywall, flooring and furniture)
Vegetative debris and cleanup waste
