Downtown Vision, Inc. (DVI) announced the return of Third Thursday Sip & Stroll Presented by PNC Bank, beginning Thursday, Sept. 17.
The monthly event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. every third Thursday of the month on the Southbank Riverwalk.
While construction takes place around Friendship Fountain, the event's footprint will temporarily shift to span from 1701 Prudential Drive to RiversEdge at 2010 Prudential Drive, at the east end of the Southbank Riverwalk.
"Third Thursday Sip & Stroll Presented by PNC Bank has truly become a signature experience on the Southbank Riverwalk," said Jake Gordon, CEO of Downtown Vision, Inc. He said organizers are "navigating some exciting change" with the temporary move to RiversEdge, and are "thrilled to kick things off" with Rio Latino Jax.
The event will feature live music, food trucks and carts, riverside bars, and picnic areas along the riverfront. Alcoholic beverages in branded cups are permitted and can be purchased at on-site Riverwalk bars.
The season opener will mark the third consecutive year Rio Latino Jax has partnered with the event, bringing a Sept. 17 celebration of Latin music and dance.
Chris Kalin, PNC regional president for North and Central Florida, said the event "showcases the momentum and vibrancy that make Downtown Jacksonville special," and creates opportunities for residents and visitors to connect and support local businesses.
Following Sip & Stroll, attendees can head to the DoubleTree pool deck for a free silent disco hosted by HushHush Headphones.
