PEORIA – An unidentified 19-year-old male has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting on Labor Day weekend.

Peoria police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating one round had been fired in the 1200 block of East McClure Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6. Upon arrival, officers located the 19-year-old suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a vehicle. Officers immediately provided assistance before he was transported to a local hospital.

Members of the Police Department's Patrol Unit, Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. No suspect information is currently available.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
