IA, NE, SD (KCAU) — Near-seasonal conditions are expected for Siouxland this Thursday with mostly clear skies overhead.
A warm front will move through today, bringing southerly winds between 10-20 mph tonight. Lows will be roughly 10° above average.
Some clouds will move into the region for Friday, with breezy conditions continuing throughout the day. A cold front will move through Friday evening, bringing showers and storms as well.
The risk for showers and storms for Friday is a conditional one, meaning there are ingredients present working against storms being able to form. If storms can form, they have the potential to be strong to severe. Because of this, most of Siouxland has a slight risk of severe weather. The biggest concerns for Siouxland are wind gusts around 60 mph, with a secondary risk of hail ~1" in diameter.
For the weekend, temperatures will dip slightly below average, with highs in the mid 70s. Saturday will have mostly clear skies overhead for most of the day, though showers will move in late Saturday night, persisting into Sunday and Monday.
Even cooler temperatures will move into the region for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Partly cloudy skies are expected for Tuesday and Friday; however, more rain chances move in for Wednesday and Thursday.
