No Kings organizers have announced a nationwide day of action in October hoping to create mass voter turnout ahead of the midterm elections.
The No Kings coalition – which includes progressive activists and civil rights groups – has hosted several demonstrations opposing President Donald Trump's policies, since coming into prominence on June 14, 2025. About 2,000 protests and rallies took place across the country that day.
The last three No Kings events largely focused on thousands of rallies to bring millions of Americans into the streets in small towns, suburbs, and large cities, protesting against what it calls creeping tyranny by the federal government.
The October day of action, however, will be specifically focused on encouraging people to get out and vote early before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
"Since the first No Kings in June of last year millions of people have demonstrated they are not afraid and they will not bow to any would-be American King," Ezra Levin, co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible, said in a statement. "We've sent that message loud and clear – but we're not just sending a message with this next No Kings. We're taking back power for the people using our constitutional right to organize and our constitutional right to vote."
The localized events are about "turning power into action" and "holding those in office accountable," according to Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown, co-founders of Black Voters Matter Fund.
White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis dismissed the action, telling USA TODAY, "What King are they protesting? This is more Trump derangement syndrome."
"We are lucky to have a President who works around the clock to Make America Great Again," Bis said.
At least one Vermont No Kings event is planned for October. See where the rally will be hosted in the Green Mountain State.
The No Kings coalition is hosting a nationwide day of action on Saturday, Oct. 17, called "No Kings: Vote Early."
The group said events hosted will include rallies, block parties, or walks to the polls to encourage people to vote early.
"Gathering across the country to joyously celebrate the right of all Americans to cast a ballot, and to cast it early if that is an option in their state, is a beautiful endeavor," Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen, said in a statement.
At least one "No Kings" rally is scheduled to take place in Vermont in October:
Winooski, VT: Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Rotary Park, 35 Main St.)
More cities and towns may still be added by local organizers and will be listed here.
No Kings is a coalition of labor organizations, progressive activists, civil rights groups, and faith leaders rallying around political causes. Among them are the American Federation of Teachers, Black Voters Matter Fund, Voto Latino, Indivisible, MoveOn, and Public Citizen.
The name "No Kings" comes from the organizers' belief that President Donald Trump is acting like a monarch rather than the leader of a democracy.
The last No Kings day, held in March, included events in communities in all 50 states and every congressional district, including rural and Republican areas.
The coalition said its events are nonpartisan and designed to increase participation from all eligble voters.
