PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Pensacola International Airport will be hosting an Honor Flight welcome home celebration, and community members are invited to attend.
Mobile road improvements to start September 14
Those who attend will welcome home Vietnam and World War II veterans from their three-day trip to Washington, D.C.
Officials said that a two-time Purple Heart recipient and a 100-year-old WWII vet will be among those returning to Pensacola.
"The community is invited to gather at PNS to celebrate their return and show its gratitude for the service and sacrifice of all veterans participating in the Honor Flight," an airport release read.
Some of the organizations that will be part of the celebration including
University of West Florida ROTC
Daughters of the American Revolution
Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard
The celebration will take place on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 4:30 p.m., however flight arrival times could change.

Event-goers should go to the airport's second floor in the Pre-Security area near the TSA checkpoint.
