A 3.4-magnitude earthquake shook throughout the eastern end of Contra Costa County just after midnight on Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at approximately 12:25 a.m., with a depth of 11.1 miles. The closest Bay Area city to its epicenter was Brentwood, roughly 5.5 miles away. Other nearby cities to the epicenter included Blackhawk (6.9 miles), Clayton (8.8 miles), and Byron (8.9 miles).
The USGS's 'Did You Feel It?' report shows the earthquake was felt from Pleasanton and Danville, to as far east as Stockton. No injuries or damage were initially reported.
