Investigators are asking for the public's help identifying a boy whose skeletal remains were found in a wooded area nearly a year ago.

Rockdale County deputies responded Nov. 14, 2025, to an area near Honey Creek Road and Tucker Mill Road after someone reported finding the remains.
The remains were confirmed to be human and were initially believed to belong to a child no older than eight years old. At the time, investigators did not know the child's age, race or identity.
According to an update from the sheriff's office, DNA testing determined the child was a boy and of Sub-Saharan ancestry. Investigators believe he may have been between six and seven years old.

The child was wearing a long-sleeved shirt and boys' shorts when his remains were found.
The images released by investigators were created by a forensic artist with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. They show what the child may have looked like.
The circumstances surrounding the child's death remain under investigation. The case is active and ongoing.
