Political analyst Dick Morris said Saturday that a bloc of 10 or 15 far-left members would hold outsize leverage over a Democratic House majority, though he predicted Republicans will keep the chamber in November and gain ground in the Senate.

"Even if there are 10 or 15 of them, if the Democrats win the House, which I don't think they will — but if they do, it'll be by a fairly narrow margin," Morris said on Newsmax's "Saturday Report."

"And the 10 or 15 communists who they're electing will be enough of a tail to wag the dog," he said. "And they'll go to the Democratic majority and say, you want to pass your motion, you want your committee chairman, you want your majority, OK? You have to defund the police. You have to get rid of ICE. You have to open our borders. You have to do our platform. You have to pack the Supreme Court."

Morris did not name the candidates he was describing.

He said he was more confident about the Senate, where he predicted Republicans would hold their own seats and add to their majority.

"I think that we're going to win the Senate. I think we'll hold the seats that are being attacked. And I think there are four good opportunities for pickups," Morris said.

"The Senate you can look at now because it's early, early enough, and you have New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota and Georgia, which are all four seats, which are good opportunities for Republicans to pick up."

All four seats are held by Democrats. Three are open: Sens. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Gary Peters of Michigan and Tina Smith of Minnesota are not seeking reelection. In Georgia, Sen. Jon Ossoff is defending a seat in a state President Donald Trump carried in 2024.

Republicans hold a 53-47 Senate majority, counting two independents who caucus with Democrats. Thirty-five seats are on the ballot Nov. 3, and Democrats need a net gain of four to take control.

Nonpartisan handicappers have rated Georgia a toss-up, and ratings in Michigan and New Hampshire have shifted toward toss-up in recent weeks. Minnesota has been rated likely Democratic.

All 435 House seats are up in November. Republicans hold a narrow majority in the chamber, which they have controlled since 2023.
