An investigation is underway after two men were found dead inside a north Houston home Monday night, HPD said.

A homicide detective at the scene along Downey Street near Little York said a neighbor reported smelling a foul odor. Responding officers forced entry and found the bodies.

HPD said there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Police said it appears three men, all brothers, owned the house, and that neighbors told them they hadn't seen any of them for about a week.

It's unclear at this time how the victims died. Police said the two men were found together, which is why they say their deaths are suspicious.

Officers have not said whether the bodies inside were the owners or someone else.
