OZARK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of a Franklin County man following an incident in the Jethro community, just north of Ozark.

According to investigators, Franklin County deputies responded to a 911 call on Wednesday reporting a death at a home on Lower Jethro Road.

Investigators said that when deputies arrived, they found the body of 79-year-old Terrance Kiggins, of Ozark, inside the home.

Deputies located the victim's son, 37-year-old J.M. Kiggins, at the home, according to investigators.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office then called in special investigators to assume the lead in the investigation, with agents arresting J.M. Kiggins and transporting him to the Franklin County Detention Center.

He is currently being held on a charge of first-degree homicide, according to investigators.

Investigators said that the body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock to determine the cause and manner of death.
