CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) - The 180th Canfield Fair is days away, and everyone is setting up for the big week.

With over 400 vendors, hundreds of campers, and thousands of attendees, preparation starts early.

Vendor carts were already in their spots and rides were getting built.

Ride and vendor inspections are coming up to make sure everything is ready before the gates open Sept. 2.

There will be 23 new vendors this year.

Today, campers checked into the campgrounds to live in their homes away from home.

"I have reservations for 589 RV units, and then we have an overflow area that if they don't have an electric lot, they go to the overflow and that's probably another 50, 50 or 60. So it's well over 600 by the time the fair starts," campground manager Clyde Martz said.

Gates open for the fair at 8 a.m. and rides open at 11 a.m.
