The search is on for a buyer for Clementon Park & Splash World, which posted on social media Sept. 9 that its newly ended 2026 season would be its last.

An identical message went up on the park website and its Facebook page Wednesday morning. The park calendar showed its final day open for this season was Sept. 7.

"As we close out our 2026 season, we want to sincerely thank our guests, Season Passholders, team members and community for being part of another summer at Clementon Park & Splash World," the message reads.

"After five memorable years, we are saddened to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close the park and plan to offer the park for sale. It has been a privilege to care for a place that has meant so much to generations of families. We are hopeful that we will find a buyer who shares our love for Clementon Park and will carry its history and legacy forward."

The park promised more details regarding any sale as they become available.

Clementon Park & Splash World is at 144 Berlin Road, adjacent to East Atlantic Avenue and Clementon Lake.

It opened in 1907 as a "trolley park" intended to spur weekend traffic on a transit line between then-rural South Jersey and Philadelphia, according to an account from Capital Recovery.

The business closed in 2019 and was the subject of a mortgage foreclosure action in October 2020. It was purchased in early 2021 at auction by a division of Indiana Beach Amusement and Water Park, which reopened it.

Originally a family business, it was purchased in 2011 by Premier Parks. That company renamed it Clementon Park & Splash World to mark the addition of a water park that year.

The site includes a 25-acre lake, a dam and a 4,000-square-foot historic house.
