A 75-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Florence just after midnight Sunday, according to police.

Mayra Ruiz of Florence was pronounced dead at the scene of the Sept. 13 crash, police said in a news release.

At 12:32 a.m., the Florence Police Department responded to a head-on collision on Houston Road near Marydale Road. A police investigation revealed the crash was between Ruiz heading southbound and a second vehicle heading northbound on Houston Road.

The northbound driver was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The Florence Police Department Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. Police ask anyone with further information to call the police department at 859-647-5420.
