Plan for traffic delays when traveling on Interstate 35 in Central Texas. The Texas Department of Transportation is planning a couple of nightly lane closures on Interstate 35 starting Sunday, September 13.

One closure will affect the northbound and southbound lanes on I-35 between Oltorf Street and SH 45 SE. The lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, September 17. TxDOT posted on X that the closure is due to paving and barrier work. Due to the closure, I-35 will be reduced to one lane in some areas and multiple entrance and exit ramps will also be closed.

There will also be nightly lane closures on northbound and southbound I-35 between Airport Blvd and 12th Street. It will be closed for the same time as the other closure, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Also, the MLK bridge and NB/FB frontage roads will have varying nightly lane closures.

Not on I-35, TxDOT is also planning a closure on Cesar Chavez Street between Springdale Rd and Brushy Street from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. The closure is due to utility work.
