Emergency services have found three bodies following a fire in western France.
The bodies were discovered near a burnt-out house, a spokesman for the Gendarmerie police force said on Wednesday.
The spokesman was initially unable to say whether they had died in the fire or were already dead before it started.
The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon near Lhoumois, a small village south-east of Nantes.
The Gendarmerie said that three fires broke out in the field at almost the same time. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Jean Pillot, the local mayor, told BFMTV that it was not yet possible to say whether the fire might have been started deliberately. However, he said he found the occurrence of three separate fires suspicious.
He added that the dead were a woman, her adult son and her partner. The family had been living in the house for several years.
