The man accused of allegedly shooting and killing a 38-year-old woman after a domestic violence incident that led to a shooting at a Denny's restaurant in Madera County on Sunday has been arrested, deputies confirm.
Around 11:30 a.m., the agency received reports of multiple gunshots being fired at Denny's off Avenue 18 1/2 and Golden State Boulevard, west of Highway 99.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and provided medical aid until emergency medical services arrived.
She was taken to the hospital but later died from her injuries.
Her identity has not been released.
Deputies learned that the victim and 51-year-old David Moreno were eating at the restaurant. When they left, the couple got into a fight. The victim got into her vehicle when Moreno walked up and shot her multiple times.
Deputies say that the victim was Moreno's estranged wife.
Moreno fled the scene and was later arrested by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office near Highway 41 and Manning Avenue, 36 miles from where the shooting occurred.
